10 Women Who Could Direct Wonder Woman

6. Jennifer Yuh

If Warner Brothers do decide to look for someone with a proven track record of big budgets and huge profits, they need look no further than Jennifer Yuh, whose last film earned $665 million on a $150 million budget (the sort of earning that Warner Bros. can only dream about for Wonder Woman). Up until Jennifer Lee's work on the mega-successful Frozen, Yuh's Kung Fu Panda 2 was the highest earning film ever directed by a woman and remains the biggest earner with a female solo directing credit. Having been promoted from Head of Story on the first film, Yuh is currently working on Kung Fu Panda 3 for a 2015 release, which would enable her to step straight onto Wonder Woman afterwards. As well as her obvious previous record with generating profit, the Kung Fu Panda films are also notable amongst animated films for their boldly designed, imagined and choreographed action and fight sequences, something it would be good to see Yuh bring across to live action filmmaking. Meanwhile, her TV work as director and storyboard artist on the animated Spawn series (so much better than the dire live action film) indicates a familiarity and ability with comic book material. Yes, she has only really worked in animation, but in recent years directors of hit animations like Andrew Adamson (Shrek to Narnia) or Brad Bird (The Incredibles to Mission Impossible) have crossed over successfully to live action, so Yuh could definitely do so as well.
