3. The Narrator
"I felt like putting a bullet between the eyes of every Panda that wouldn't screw to save its species. I wanted to open the dump valves on oil tankers and smother all the French beaches I'd never see. I wanted to breathe smoke." When a character whose name you don't even know manages to win your heart, you know he must be something really special. The Narrator from Fight Club is a very interesting character because you actually understand him, you felt what he was going through the beginning of the movie. So when the twist is revealed near the end of the film, you felt as shocked as he was. And once you thought about it for a while and decided to watch the movie for a while you realized that said revelation actually makes a lot of sense. Edward Norton's performance helped a lot with the character, the look he had on the film (the one of a severely damaged and tired person) made more realistic the transformation he was going through. A movie that will live on for many years to come, and we all owe it to a character whose name we ignore completely.
