10 Worst Adam Sandler Movies Ever
9. Bulletproof (1996)
With an 8% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes, Bulletproof is one of Adam Sandler's worst reviewed films, and it didn't make a whole lot of money at the box office either, especially when compared to some of his bigger hits.
The film essentially tried to leech off the success of successful buddy comedies like Lethal Weapon or 48 Hrs. but lacks any of the charm or wit that make those movies work. Buddy movies need major chemistry between their leads, and audiences only had to wait two more years to see a perfect example of this with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in Brett Ratner's Rush Hour.
If the likes of Tucker and Chan or Lethal Weapon's Mel Gibson and Danny Glover made for perfect comedy duos, Sandler and his co-star Damon Wayans went the opposite way. They had no real connection and consequently many of the film's gags fell flat. Even the director, Ernest Dickerson, wasn't happy with the final cut and wished he'd never made it, complaining that studio interference cut out many of the more adult jokes and scenes to give the film a family-friendly rating.
