10 Worst Adam Sandler Movies Ever
4. I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry (2007)
If there's one thing Adam Sandler seems to want to make abundantly clear, it's that he's not gay. Homophobic jokes play a big part in many of his films, and I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry is the worst offender of all.
The film casts Sandler and Kevin James as firefighters who have to get married so that James' character can maintain his life insurance policy. Awkwardness ensues as Chuck and Larry have to keep up the pretence of being married, and the movie does seem to try and crudely convey a positive message about equality and tolerance, but handles it with all the care and grace of a grizzly bear, managing to be far more insulting than inspiring over the course of its overly long runtime.
And homosexual people aren't the only targets, with Sandler's regular partner-in-crime Rob Schneider busting out his embarrassing Asian stereotype impression for the umpteenth time as the minister who weds Chuck and Larry. All-in-all, I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry may have had some good intentions but they're so hard to spot behind all the offensive gags and dreadful dialogue.
