So, for Americans who remember that this was a thing, you might say to yourselves “that dinosaur documentary wasn’t that bad”. Well that’s the edit you got. The British public who grew up with the incredible 90’s documentary series this was based on got a cobbled-together underdog story.

The film follows the loser dino with a physical defect who becomes the hero and goes on to make lots of dino babies. The story is so lazy because it was literally a last-minute decision. The film was originally going to be a documentary faithful to the original source material, but studio execs wanted to make money so they brought in voice actors, slapped a script onto the film and turned it into an actual movie.

The results are obvious, with none of the mouth movements of the dinosaurs not even remotely matching what they’re saying, and the performances being of poor quality. This would be higher up the list but the film came and went so quickly out of people’s consciousnesses that you probably forgot it was even a thing until just now. And the American release kept the documentary style so maybe that's something...?
