10 Worst Ever Accent Fails In Film

1. Tom Hardy – Locke

We can all agree that Tom Hardy is a brilliant actor, and if anybody needs proof of that, Locke ought to quell all doubts. Hardy is the only character on screen, and he is in his car calling folks throughout the entire movie; sounds awful but it isn't. It is an experimental thriller that works surprisingly well.

But Hardy, playing Welsh building-site foreman Ivan Locke, sounds more like a Welshman who spent his entire youth working in the kitchen of an Indian restaurant than anything else. He himself admitted that he learned the accent from a contractor in Afghanistan when he was researching for a different film. The man was English but had developed a strong Welsh accent during his childhood. If that sounds confusing, you are ready to understand Hardy's accent in Locke.

All credit to him though; his accent, although weird is at least consistent throughout.
