10 Worst Horror Movie Characters Of 2022
9. Andrew McGee - Firestarter

Zac Efron's Andrew McGee bleeds from the eyes when he uses his telepathic powers in 2022's Firestarter - a response that hilariously parallels the reaction of any poor soul unfortunate enough to be witnessing the film.
Efron is unspeakably bad in Firestarter. It speaks volumes to the quality of his performance that the only enjoyable moment across his character's entire appearance in the film is the sequence in which he gets barbecued by his equally insufferable pyrokinetic daughter - portrayed by American Horror Story alum Ryan Kiera Armstrong.
Based on King of Horror Stephen King's classic novel and an ambitious remake of the 1984 original picture, Keith Thomas' film is irredeemably woeful. Doing justice to King's legendary horror adaptations has always proved a difficult cinematic task but Firestarter frankly doesn't attempt it with even the semblance of gusto. Thomas' offering is drab, tediously dull and a legitimately arduous watch - 94 minutes of ultra-uninspired, low-stakes drivel, with Efron's dismal performance as the titular Firestarter's Charlene's father Andy at the heart of proceedings.
Despite what initially appears to be a promising start, the actor swiftly falls into his usual monotonous style of agonizingly one-dimensional acting, making what is already a truly unenjoyable viewing experience infinitely worse. While no performance from Efron will ever settle as close to the bottom of the cinematic barrel as his turn in Baywatch, this one arguably comes close.
