5. The Mutant Bear - Annihilation
Alex Garland's Annihilation offers up a distinctly twisted fate for Cassie (Tuva Novotny), one of the members of the scientific expedition into the mysterious extraterrestrial zone known as the Shimmer.
During the expedition, Cassie is mauled and killed by a mutated bear, the bear's mutation a result of the Shimmer's ability to "refract" and transform the DNA of any living thing within it.
As for Cassie, being devoured by the bear isn't even the end - her dying mind is then refracted into the bear, allowing it to emit her horrific dying scream at will, as lures her teammates to the bear's position with disastrous consequences.
