10 Worst MCU Deleted Scenes EVER

7. The Avengers Take A Knee For Tony Stark - Avengers: Endgame

Captain Marvel Brie Larson
Marvel Studios

This may well be an unpopular opinion, but the Russo brothers were absolutely right to delete the scene where the Avengers all take a knee to honour Tony Stark after he dies at the end of the movie.

In addition to being total emotional overkill given the nature of his demise and the subsequent funeral scene, it's honestly pretty corny and feels like a forced attempt to wring tears from the audience's eyes - which the funeral scene does far more organically.

Though there's nothing especially wrong with the scene on a technical or performance level, it's just too much of a muchness, and considering how little fanfare Black Widow's (Scarlett Johansson) death got, it feels ridiculously self-indulgent in a movie already three hours long.

This is a classic example of killing your darlings.
