10 Worst MCU Films (So Far)

1. Thor: The Dark World

Yes, in spite of the best efforts of films like Eternals or Black Widow, Thor: The Dark World is still the nadir of the MCU.

Why? Well, where to begin?

It's positively drowning in soulless video game-style action sequences, Thor's romance with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) still sucks, it's as visually interesting as a low-budget TV film, the villain (Christopher Eccleston) is the MCU's all-time worst, most of the comedy is very annoying and most damagingly of all, it's got a painfully uninteresting and hollow screenplay.

There's very little substance or fun to be had here and it's very likely that many skipped this one during their pre-Infinity War/Endgame MCU rewatch and that's totally understandable. After all, this movie lacks of any sort of depth or excitement, it doesn't develop Thor as a character and very little of it has impacted the future of the MCU.

It does seem like pretty much everyone who worked on this film, including director Alan Taylor, was dissatisfied with it and it's also widely reviled by audiences so putting this as the worst MCU film is a cliche, but cliches exist for a reason.

To date, the MCU has not delivered anything else this lifeless or badly written so it remains the MCU's worst film but given the creative slump the franchise is currently in, it might be knocked off that pedestal soon enough.
