10 Worst Movie CGI Of 2020

8. Future San Dimas - Bill & Ted Face The Music

Bloodshot Vin Diesel
Orion Pictures

The sheer fact that the third Bill & Ted movie even got made is nothing short of a miracle, all the more so considering that it ultimately turned out pretty well.

But it's painfully clear from the end result that corners were cut budgetarily to get the film before cameras, and that $25 million simply wasn't enough moolah for director Dean Parisot to realise the script's more ambitious elements.

Though the digital rendering of Hell actually looks surprisingly decent, the gaudy vision of future San Dimas that Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) visit never convinces as anything more than a low-res, offputtingly sterile CGI background.

It's ugly enough that it actively detracts from what's going on in these scenes, reminding you that, in reality, Winter and Reeves were standing in front of a green screen.

Though the film has a better excuse than almost every other film on this list, it is nevertheless the exact opposite of movie magic - an unwanted peek behind the curtain, if you like.
