10 Worst Movie CGI Of 2021

Now to be completely fair to the new Resident Evil reboot, it was produced for just $25 million, a mere fraction of almost every other movie on this list.

That said, it's painfully clear the production bit off more than they could chew VFX-wise.

While there are basically countless rancid CGI moments throughout the film, the one that absolutely takes the cake is the movie's attempt to realise the video game series' zombie dog known as the Cerberus.

Mid-way through the film, the Cerberus makes a fleeting appearance and looks, well, really damn video game-y.

While the original Paul W.S. Anderson Resident Evil used real dogs covered in zombie makeup, in this new film laughably low-rent CGI has just been pasted over the top of a real dog, it seems.

The Cerberus is thankfully disposed of pretty quickly, but even so, the close-up shots we get of it are not kind at all. Seriously, a half-talented VFX artist could achieve equivalent or better results from their home computer in an afternoon. Just awful.
