10 Worst Movie CGI Of 2021

4. Pip The Troll - Eternals

Eternals may not be a great movie, but for the most part its CGI at least looks pretty solid. That is, except, for a mid-credits scene which introduces audiences to both Pip the Troll (Patton Oswalt) and Eros aka Starfox (Harry Styles).

Pip looks, to be blunt, awful. The rendering is bizarrely low-fidelity for an MCU movie and looks instead like something you'd expect to see in a mid-budget video game cutscene from 10-15 years ago. He doesn't look remotely "real" and even something as basic as his lip sync is a little off.

Despite Oswalt's enthusiastic vocal performance as the character, it's extremely difficult to pay attention to what he's saying or be even basically endeared to him when looks so visually unappealing.

One can assume that the production was rushing to meet the movie's release date and decided to make the mid-credits scene a back-burner priority. But for those who did stick around, a beloved comic book character was rendered a total eye-sore on the big screen.

He may look acceptable enough in the above screen grab, but in motion he looks absolutely rotten. With the backlash being so vocal from MCU fans, hopefully Disney might polish it up for the home video release. Pip certainly deserves better.
