10 Worst Movie Reboots Of The 2010s

Again this film suffered because it rebooted a franchise that was truly a product of its time. The original 1990 film grossed over ten times its original budget and the Turtles were truly household names. With that kind of reputation, it’s not surprising that twenty-four years later the new film was still commercially successful. Yet, this film was a mess.

Megan Fox’s return to a big-budget blockbuster produced by Michael Bay couldn’t help the motion picture. It cut in action with serious themes and it came across as jarring. When a sequel to this film came, it seemed audiences had learned their lesson and the film barely made a financial return.

The lovable turtles seem to be on a hiatus and for now, and that seems to be for the best. While the animated series still goes strong, live-action takes on the adventures of four turtles and a rat should probably be left alone.
