Anyone watching The Angry Birds Movie trailer for the first time is surely left asking themselves how on earth anybody could conceive making a feature film out of what is possibly the most annoying smartphone game ever to be played. Well apparently Rovio (the guys behind the original game) did and alongside its two directors, animation veterans Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis, will be assaulting cinema goers senses with Angry Birds on the big screen next summer. Opening with the dulcet tones of Karen Carpenter lulling you into a false sense of security, the trailer quickly descends into your typical kids film with basic gags, game-related in jokes, slapstick comedy and the kind of kooky, hyperactive characters that appeal to children under the age of 5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1U2DKKqxHgE Though the animation looks great and theres an impressive voice cast featuring the likes of Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader and Peter Dinklage, and no doubt itll make a good bit of money when its released even if just from parents looking for a way to entertain their little ones over the summer holidays, still the resounding question is WHY?.
