When the first trailer for Terminator Genisys dropped back in December last year it seemed like a fairly fun dystopian romp featuring enough references to the original films to pull fans back in with an obligatory Ill be back thrown in for good measure, despite coming across as a confused hybrid of prequel, sequel and reboot. But the second trailer released in April 2015 basically left absolutely nothing to the imagination, revealing the films big twist that John Connor has gone over to the dark side and is now a T-3000 himself and leaving everyone wondering why the hell theyd give away such a big spoiler just months before the film premiered. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGSxss7gWak Well, apparently the marketing folk behind Terminator Genisys felt that people were misperceiving the film as a basic reboot and that a new trailer giving away the big plot twist would counteract misconceptions, although the real reason behind their decision could be the fact that the script (big twist included) was leaked online a few months prior. Either way, it pissed off director Alan Taylor and many fans who were looking forward to its big reveal however predictable.
