10 Worst Movies Of 2020
8. Like A Boss
Like a Boss was 2020's quintessential January movie - a frothy, lighter-than-air comedy primed to exit your mind the moment you left the cinema. Paramount knew it was terrible, and dumped it in the most unassuming, barren period of the movie calendar.
Though Rose Byrne and Tiffany Haddish make for an appealing team, this depressingly low-effort "comedy" squanders their talents on the most cynically formulaic script possible, as though the pages for each day of shooting were hurriedly written on a cocktail napkin the night before.
It's basically a movie designed for hungover people to discover on their streaming platform of choice on a bleary Sunday afternoon.
And in the new cinematic landscape from 2021 onwards, it's tough to imagine many films like this getting steady theatrical releases.
Ultimately it doesn't rank any lower because it's not aggressively headache-inducing, and much like Artemis Fowl it has a snappy runtime - just 83 minutes, including credits! - working in its favour.
