10 Worst Movies Of 2023 (So Far)

8. White Men Can't Jump

Winnie The Pooh
Hulu

Was a single solitary soul asking for a remake of 1992's iconic sports comedy White Men Can't Jump?

Beyond the fact that it's so wonderfully specific to its era, there's simply no competing with the crackling chemistry between Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson.

And though the remake's leads, Sinqua Walls and Jack Harlow, put in a fair enough effort, this is an inferior rehash in every possible way.

The script unimaginatively "remixes" the original sports hustling concept for modern audiences, it can't shake the whiff of looking like a cheap Streaming Movie, and even at "just" 101 minutes it outstays its welcome by a solid 20.

It's no surprise that studios are strip-mining their legacy IP in an attempt to produce quick-and-dirty new content, but of all the things to remake, why choose something so staunchly of-its-time, while doing little interesting with it no less?

In the very least it gave Lance Reddick fans another posthumous role to savour, but that's all most are likely to remember about it.
