6. On A Wing & A Prayer

On a Wing and a Prayer ticks a few easy Bad Movie boxes, being a Christian survival drama starring Dennis Quaid and coming from the director of Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite!

Based on a true story, the film stars Quaid as Doug White, a man who was forced to pilot a light aircraft containing his wife and daughter after the pilot unexpectedly died mid-flight.

Not an inherently terrible idea for a movie, yet from director Sean McNamara's tension-devoid treatment to the toe-curlingly corny faith-based throughline, poor visual effects, and overabundance of runtime-padding subplots, this is absolute hokum of the highest (lowest?) order.

Even Quaid, who has classed-up many a low-rent genre film with his go-for-broke work, scarcely registers a pulse here, ensuring this isn't so much so-bad-it's-good as just... bad.

Once upon a time these sorts of Christian propaganda movies would prove wildly successful with their target audience at the box office. Nowadays they're the greasy bread-and-butter of streaming services like Amazon Prime.
