10 Worst Movies That Hollywood Almost Made

1. Forrest Gump 2: Gump & Co

Like E.T., Forrest Gump is a film so wonderfully heart-warming that I cannot possibly fathom a sequel being made, but that didn't stop the original movie's writer, Eric Roth, from taking a stab at the second novel from Winston Groom, Gump and Co. The script deviates from the novel just as the first movie did, starting mere moments after the first film ended, with major plot points involving Forrest becoming a dancer after the shrimp business caves in (and somehow dancing with Princess Diana as a result), inventing New Coke, tearing down the Berlin Wall accidentally, and fighting in the Desert Storm conflict. Oh, and he'd have a pet orangutan with him...somehow... The most ludicrous aspect was the idea to have Forrest end up in O.J. Simpson's infamous white Bronco which he drove in order to flee the police when he was accused of murder. The biggest indicator that someone up there didn't want the film made is that Eric Roth had written a finale set during the Oklahoma City bombing, and submitted the script on September 10th, 2001. The next day, all plans for the film were naturally scrapped, and nobody's ever tried to resurrect it since, perhaps taking it as a sign. Which movie are you most glad was never made? Or are you perhaps hoping some of them might make it in the end? Let us know in the comments below.
