10 Worst Opening Scenes In Otherwise Perfect Movies

9. The Pointless Recap - Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is considered by a lot of fans to be the best film in the series, and rightly so: it's a tense and gripping finale to an otherwise mixed array of movies, and one that ties up J.K. Rowling's epic story without putting so much as a foot wrong.

It's a shame, however, that Deathly Hallows: Part 2 also happens to be the movie that is responsible for kicking off the most irritating recent Hollywood craze: the one which sees an ever-expanding number of Young Adult adaptations having their final books split into two separate films.

As such, this movie begins with a relentlessly pointless opening scene that needlessly recaps what happened at the end of the previous movie - Lord Voldemort getting the Elder Wand - in a series of artistically-rendered shots. But why did we need this? It's not like anybody who ventured out to see this final chapter in an eight-movie saga would have done so without seeing the other films.

Does Hollywood really think we're all so stupid that we needed this "previously on Harry Potter" approach? According to the start of this movie, the answer is a resounding: "Yes."
