10 Worst Scenes In Otherwise Awesome Movies

7. The End - Monty Python And The Holy Grail

The Holy Grail is, arguably, the greatest thing that Monty Python have ever done - it's silly, dumb fun, but there's a genuine sense of artistry to be admired about the whole thing. For the sum of its parts, as we move from one ridiculous scenario to the next, and though it's ridiculous, we still get caught up in the narrative - we want to see our band of misfits achieve their goal, regardless of whether or not it's a comedy movie. Alas, here's a movie that bow out on an unresolved note. As we head towards the climax, the movie is suddenly invaded by dozens of modern day policeman, who literally come at the camera, demanding it's turned off, whilst arresting King Arthur and his men. Okay, so some might say that this ending is brilliantly wry - a meta-comment on the very nature of movie ending. I say it's just a cop-out. And though it's certainly a very Python-esque ending, it also comes attached to feelings of disappointment. It also seems to have been ripped directly from Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles, and - as a result - feels a little stale.
