8. Exogorth - Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
A potentially controversial pick here, but one that has always seemed a little at odds with the rest of this otherwise awesome Star Wars flick: After Han, Leia, Chewbacca and the Droids leave Hoth towards the beginning of the movie (whilst Luke goes off to train with Yoda), they're caught in an astroid field and chased by the Empire in one of the franchise's most exhilarating sequences. Han eventually manages to pilot the Millennium Falcon inside a giant asteroid, where he sets it down and hopes to wait until the Empire moves on. Soon enough, the Falcon is attacked by a some parasites, and the gang realise that they're not inside an asteroid after all - they're inside a giant worm-thing called an Exogorth. Han manages to get the ship out between the creature's noshers just in time, as the worm - which looks like a cheap sock puppet of sorts - rises from its sleeping place and roars in anger. Given the dark and brooding tone edging into the movie at this point, though, the whole scene just feels a bit naff. The puppet looks terrible, and the moment feels oddly far-fetched - even for Star Wars.
