10 Worst Sci-Fi Movie Characters Of All Time

In The Fifth Element, Corbin Dallas is recruited to a special mission to retrieve some stones to save the world from Evil. It's a simple enough plot, but his job is far from easy, and he ends up meeting a lot of people along the way.

One such fellow is Ruby Rhod, the Federated Territories' most successful radio host, and he's quite a character. He's loud, unorthodox, whiny, and in no way qualified to help Dallas accomplish his mission. That said, he's the comic relief, so when he gets attached, he's in it to the very end.

Chris Tucker managed to play this character brilliantly, and it's unlikely anyone else would have done it as well. That's not to say Ruby Rhod wasn't a terrible character — he absolutely was. He was completely unfit for the situation he wound up in, which was why he was constantly screaming at the top of his lungs.

Everything he did was annoying to Dallas (and the audience), but he somehow managed to survive through to the end of the film. While Dallas would have probably succeeded without him, it wouldn't have been as funny without Ruby Rhod tagging along.
