10 Worst, Strangest & Most Distracting Film Cameos of 2012

4. Ryan Reynolds - Ted

Ryan Reynolds Ted Somewhat typically of a Seth McFarlane project, Ted was full of odd pop culture references and guest appearances and cameos, and if it weren't for his extended screen time, Flash Gordon himself, Sam Jones would have made it onto this list, thanks to the lunacy of his role in the film. But he wasn't the oddest cameo of the film by some distance. Introduced early on to Patrick Warburton's unnamed Guy, we discover that he may or may not be involved in a "gay beat-up club," after it is revealed he texts someone late at night to come and beat him up while drunk. That would have been odd enough, but the pay-off took it to another level, when it was revealed that Guy was indeed gay and that his lover was Ryan Reynolds, in an unspeaking role that stayed just this side of integrated, as Reynolds fought the obvious urge to simply stare down the lens and slowly raise his eyebrows provocatively. It was only a small part of the film, but it was the oddest part of all, and in a film about a dope-smoking, profane teddy bear who uses parsnips as sex-aids, that's some going.
