10 X-Men Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Off

2. Mystique

Jennifer Lawrence is Hollywood's "it" girl of the past few years. She's at the top of the world, shows up in huge franchises, and her name comes up on want lists for just about every major project. Ergo, a standalone film featuring her Mystique makes perfect sense, as long as they don't go the Elektra route and churn out something hokey and unwatchable. That should be easy to avoid. Lawrence is a skilled actress, and thus far, Mystique (or Raven, or whatever you'd like to call her) hasn't had much time to shine outside of the "group" so to speak (not that she's a part of the X-Men, but in that universe). With the events of Days of Future Past, it would be easy to see her setting out on her own, trying to find her place in the mutant world, rather than merely being Erik's sidekick.
