10 X-Men Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Off

8. Beast

Hank McCoy has been part of the comics world since 1963, and on the film side, movie-goers have seen two different renditions of Beast in the X-Men franchise with Fox so far: Kelsey Grammer's older Beast in Last Stand and Days of Future Past, and Nicolas Hoult as the younger Beast in X-Men: First Class and Days of Future Past. Both actors did an admirable job with the role, but given the focus is shifting towards the younger generation, a solo film for Hoult's Beast could work. If not, there's always the possibility of doing something with a new actor further down the line, when this era's cast have moved on. The big blue guy is really a standout character who hasn't been used to his full potential yet, but depicted as simply a sidekick, and a Jekyll and Hyde sort of story with him on the big screen could work. There's also the "secondary mutation" storyline from the comics that could be played on, where Beast becomes more feline in form as his body continues to mutate, something that has potentially fatal consequences.
