Before director Zack Snyder was heavily involved in the DC Universe, he helmed the 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake. It's an impressive redo that just about managed to Honor George A. Romero’s 1978 classic.

This '04 offering is an all-out zombie fare and it’s always just a matter of time before each character ends up getting bitten or ripped apart by the flesh-thirsty monsters. This movie’s motley crew has congregated in the local mall for shelter and protection from the heaving hordes of the undead outside. But, after a string of incidents lead the hordes to storm the mall, the survivors are forced to make a run for it - escaping in two shuttle buses they find in the mall garage.

A small group of survivors manage to escape to a marina, where they steal a yacht and head to a Lake Michigan island. Audiences are left wondering what happened to the survivors as the credits kick in. Thankfully, those credits are interspersed with flashes of camcorder footage, found on the yacht, showing exactly what happened next.

The group arrived at the island, only to be immediately swarmed by zombies. From there, the footage ends and leaves a major question mark over their fate.
