10 Zombie Movies You Must See Before You Die

5. One Cut Of The Dead (2017)

One Cut of the Dead was released at a point where zombies had been done to death (literally). The genre was exhausted, over-saturated and becoming boring; however, this little Japanese movie came along to remind us that no matter how much Hollywood crushes something, an independent spirit will always bring it back to life.

Just when you thought there was no zombie avenue left to go down, One Cut of the Dead came along to prove that you can still make incredibly original and hilarious movies. Perhaps the best part is that it does it all without being a satire on the genre.

This indie phenomenon is frantic, inconsistent and a wild journey. It's a movie about making a zombie movie and a large portion of it is shot in one long continuous take.

Made on a budget of around $25,000 and in just 8 days, One Cut of the Dead became a hit due to its hilarity and eventually grossed $30.5 million worldwide. It’s an inspiring feat for filmmakers everywhere and a reminder that quality does find itself an audience
