100 Comics That Should Be Movies

4. The Boys

A violent and sexually bleak take on a world of super heroes where the super powered are as likely to rape you as save you. Or save you, then rape you. The Boys are a super powered unit whose task is to police the increasingly amoral super community. Violently. The Boys features the likeness of Simon Pegg as the teams newest recruit Wee Hughie and as a result has seen gained a peaked interest. The ultra violent and often funny take on the super hero genre is what has kept people reading however. How Close Is It To Being Made?: Well Columbia Pictures have optioned the comic for an adaptation and director Adam McKay (Anchorman) is attached to the project. Simon Pegg€™s involvement with the film also adds weight to its chances of making it to the silver screen. Casting Choices: Simon Pegg is a given but Vincent Cassel would be awesome as The Frenchman, Michael Jai White would be superb as Mother€™s Milk and Tom Hardy would make a great Billy Butcher.
