Planet Terror was one of the sections of double-play feature Grindhouse, another Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino collaboration, who aimed to create an homage to old exploitation movies. It originally began as a script for a zombie movie Rodriquez had been writing in the 1990's, where he had predicted the return of the zombie.

The unorthodox and subversive Rodriguez successfully creates this homage, including a stripper who loses her leg and has it replaced with a machine gun. The plot revolves around a ragtag bunch of bunch of survivors who refuse to go down without a fight, following a government experiment that has unleashed an accursed contamination that has turned normal people into homicidal mutants. It turns out to be one of the deadliest films ever made, with well over 300 on-screen deaths, just how an exploitation movie should be.

The cameo by Bruce Willis was a callback to the days of grindhouse where production studios contracted actors with large box office draw, had them perform some frontal shots for one day and then marketed them as a major role in the film.

I watch, then I write. It could gory horror movies or confusing yet loveable cult hits like Donnie Darko. So have a look at what I write, or don't. It's fine, I don't mind.
