11 Actors Who Should Take Over Indiana Jones
5. Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman is a badass, through and through, and she could more than pull this off.
It would also be thrilling to see her return to work with Lucasfilm, in any capacity. One of the most positive elements of the Star Wars prequel trilogy that is all-too-often overlooked is her work as Padmé Amidala. She delivered stellar performances throughout all three films, thoroughly investing herself and giving her all to each and every line. Just look at her final dialogue with Anakin in Episode III, as she pleads for him to come back to the light. It is the emotional culmination of one of the core arcs of the entire trilogy and she completely sells it.
If there were any doubts about Portman's ability to still deliver in the action department, one need look no further than her recent work in Annihilation. That film featured her artfully weaving together the role of the intellectual, grieving professor with a more-than-capable badass. A lot like the role of Indiana Jones would require.
Portman would give her all to this role and pull it off in every aspect.
