Its no surprise Rockys journey to the top is a direct mirror of Stallones, since hes taken plenty of knocks of his own. His filmography is an inspiring story of success against the odds, dramatic failure and then back again; only in his case its happened like five times. He broke through with Rocky but his follow-up movies - like Paradise Alley - failed, so he made Rocky II, which everyone assumed would be a failure since sequels rarely worked back then. Instead, it and the first Rambo revived his stardom, only for Rhinestone to smother it again. This pattern repeated for a while, but his career really fell on hard times after Cop Land, and he languished for a decade until Rocky Balboa. Hes had a steady stream of success since then, including The Expendables and Rambo. All roads lead to Rocky, however, and hes just been Oscar nominated for playing the elderly Balboa in franchise spin-off Creed; so the odds of a belated Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot sequel are grim.
