11 Avengers: Endgame Moments That Will Mean Something In MCU Phase 4

9. The Five-Year Time Jump

One of Endgame's most pivotal moments is the five-year time jump between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) murdering Thanos and the surviving Avengers hatching a plan to bring the victims of the Decimation back.

But even once the day is saved and everyone is resurrected, context regarding the interceding five years is curiously sparse, beyond the status of the central characters and a few scattered mentions about the environment benefiting from the halved human population.

Given how ripe this time period would be for exploration, it'd be hugely surprising if the next phase didn't feature extensive flashbacks showing how the world as a whole copied with Thanos' victory - or maybe even an entire movie set during the fallout of the snap.

With the Russo brothers stating that audiences should expect the unexpected when it comes to the future storytelling format of the MCU, it'd be a majorly missed opportunity not to flesh out what happened during the interim.
