3. Sarah Connor - Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
How She Died: The fierce, robot-battling warrior does not appear in Terminator 3, but John Connor conveys to Catherine Brewster that she died of leukemia after the events of Terminator 2, yet lived long enough to see 1997 pass without Judgement Day coming to fruition. Still, not quite sure that Skynet had been beaten once and for all, her casket houses an array of weaponry for John and co. to use in the event of a machine revolution.
Why It Sucks: Sarah Connor was, in the James Cameron tradition, another superbly-developed, strong heroine who should by all rights have reprised her role in T3. Though Hamilton has claimed that she wasn't keen on the script, it's easy to believe that she didn't want to be involved with anything her now ex-husband, Cameron, had created. Still, she
did appear in vocal form in Terminator Salvation (by way of taped recordings left for John before her death), but to write a character out in such a lame way who had fought so hard just doesn't really cut it. Hell, she wasn't even terminated!
