The Film: Batman Unchained And in another case of a cancelled Batman film predicting the dynamic of key characters in 2016 movies, Joel Schumachers Batman Unchained (widely, and wrongly called Batman Triumphant for nearly 20 years) was going to have Harley Quinn as a central character. Back then rather than having her in the traditional Joker love interest role, Quinn would have been his daughter, as she sought vengeance and Batman was haunted by the ghosts of his past in an iconic sounding final sequence (including Jack Nicholsons Joker). George Clooney would have reappeared as Batman, and though Madonna was heavily rumoured for Quinn, Schumacher was more interested in an entirely different musician:
The standout character of the film would have been Harley Quinn, who in the end finds redemption for her villainous ways. She was to be complex, conflicted and ultimately a good person underneath. While the casting process never got off the ground, Protosevichs agents at CAA set him up for lunch with Courtney Love, who was also repped by the agency and was interested in getting an acting career going.
It would have been a curio of a performance, undoubtedly, but sadly the lunatic sounding Unchained was dropped in the wake of Batman & Robins problems.
