11 Batman Movie Villains We Almost Got To See

5. Joss Whedon's Hannibal Lecter Figure

The Film: Batman: Year One When Darren Aronofsky€™s Year One went down the pan, Warner Bros remained keen on the original story and turned to Joss Whedon, who admitted in 2008 that his pitch had been under consideration. The pre-Marvel Whedon stated around the release of The Dark Knight that his Year One was similar in tone to the Nolan€™s approach, but that his was €œa bit less epic€ and set €œmore in Gotham City.€ So no Bat gap year then. Most intriguingly, Whedon also wanted to bring in an entirely new villain, like Hannibal Lecter who would have been Batman€™s criminal consultant in Akham Asylum. Imagine if it played out with a twist and the shady figure turned out to be Jack Nicholson's Joker all along. That€™s so much of an intriguing idea, in fact, that it looks like that€™s how we€™ll first meet Jared Leto€™s Joker in Suicide Squad.
