11 Best New Horror Movies For Halloween 2021
5. Antlers
I’ve been intrigued by this title ever since I first read about it around this time last year, and finally this Halloween we can sit down and watch it. Honestly I was sold as soon as I saw Jesse Plemons appear in his little sheriff outfit in the trailer, and doubly-sold as Guillermo Del Toro’s name popped up.
Mauled dead bodies start turning up around town and soon enough we realise that it’s not animals to blame. Meanwhile a local teacher becomes concerned about her student, Lucas, who has a habit of drawing disturbing images in class and appears to have nobody at home supporting him.
Once again set against a misty, woodland backdrop this film gives us body-horror, demonic entities and creepy kid realness all in one.
As the teacher and the local police try to get to the bottom of the issues at hand, they’re introduced into a world of folklore and the supernatural that they never knew existed. But now they know, will they survive to tell the tale?
