10. Hobbs & Shaw's Prison Break - The Fate Of The Furious

The Fate Of The Furious Dwayne Johnson Jason Statham
Universal

After Dom (Vin Diesel) turns on his team at the beginning of the movie, Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) ends up in the very same prison as his enemy Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham).

It's not long before the two are mouthing off at one another, and shady government spook Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell) stages a "malfunction" that unlocks all of the prison's cells.

Shaw immediately attempts to escape, fighting off the fleet of guards send to subdue him, and Hobbs, who knows exactly what Mr. Nobody is up to, reluctantly joins in when the guards start attacking him.

It's an absurd amount of fun seeing The Stath let loose with his parkour skills all over the prison while The Rock goes full berserker mode, hurling guards around like toys and no-selling their rubber bullets. When the pair finally escape the prison, Mr. Nobody shows up to hilariously tell them, "That took longer than I expected."

From the cracking fight choreography to the excellent use of music and sharp, frenetic direction, this is easily the best set-piece in the summer's craziest action movie, and it didn't even involve a single car.
