11 Biggest Crowd Pleasing Film Moments Of 2012

1. M€™s Death - SkyfallM's Death The most emotional moment of this year, and the most iconic on the Crowd Pleaser list, is without a doubt the death of M (Dame Judi Dench) in Skyfall. For the most part, the James Bond franchise has been scares with any emotional beats that affected 007 himself. When they do decide to go that route though, it's usually extremely devastating for Bond's psyche. In On Her Majesty's Secret Service, he saw his newly wedded wife gunned down by his arch-nemesis' trigger woman. In Casino Royale '06, he fell in love with a compatriot, who later turned out to be a double agent. Someone who sacrificed herself so that he may live to complete the mission. In Skyfall, Bond perhaps suffered the cruelest cut of all...he lost M. During the thrilling finale at James Bond€™s ancestral home, M is wounded badly by one of Silva€™s (Javier Bardem) henchmen. Over the course of the rest of the film, her personal state is declining and she is moved to a more secure location. A secure location that Silva finds, thanks to conveniently seeing her lantern light in the distance. Yet by time he gets to the Church where she€™s hiding out, James is not too far behind. Bond catches up to Silva and kills him with a knife to the back. Just when you think M is out of the woods and ready to go into retirement happily, she dies in her metaphorically adopted son€™s arms. For Bond, this is the greatest loss he€™s ever suffered. Even greater than the deaths of Tracy and Vesper, the death of M was something that audiences, as well as James himself, had never seen.
