As Jackie Chan has long proved, sometimes the best take of a dangerous stunt is the one that leaves the stuntman horribly injured in a heap on the floor with bits of bone sticking out. That was obviously also the thinking in the edit room when it came to cutting Back To The Future II.

During the high-octane hover board chase sequence, in which Marty McFly foils Griff Tannen's plot that would see McFly Jr thrown in jail, Griff's gang end up being arrested themselves when they crash into the courthouse window.

At the heart of the sequence was the crash stunt itself, which would require three stunt performers to fly through the glass before dropping down to safety. Unfortunately, it didn't go quite to plan and stuntwoman Cheryl Wheeler-Dixon ended up slamming into a pillar and dropping thirty feet onto concrete. Naturally she sustained serious injuries - though survived, mercifully - only to be forced to relive the horror every time she sees the movie.

Because the stunt was only filmed once, it was that horrific take that was used.
