11 Comic Book Origins That Were Very Different In The Movies
5. Deadpool (2016)
The one true tragedy of Deadpool is that it got rid of the single most interesting character in Wade Wilson's origin story, removing the humanised Death that Wilson interacts with from the entire film.
Admittedly, this makes total sense, as Wade's love story with long-time partner Vanessa would be massively undermined if Deadpool also had the weird romance he and Death have in the comics, where the pair see each other every time the mercenary passes away, only for him to be brought back to life by his healing factor once more.
That said, it would have fit the fourth-wall breaking tone quite nicely to have Deadpool's various demises be made into even more of a running gag by having the character pop up time and time again.
Given that the Death storyline also sees the Merc with a Mouth fight Thanos, there are clearly a fair few reasons that Death was blacklisted from even cameoing in the film. But with Deadpool supposedly not existing in the MCU, you'd think there'd have been no limit to who or what could have featured in the film.
