Though John Cena and LeBron James both proved themselves unexpectedly terrific actors in this summer's Trainwreck, Ronda Rousey meanwhile reminded us that most athletes-turned-actors tend to be pretty cringe-worthy as far as their delivery is concerned. In Furious 7, Rousey played Kara, the Head of Security to an Abu Dhabi billionaire, who comes across Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) after she's knocked out a guard. Letty tells her, "Would you believe I knocked him out with my charm?", to which Kara replies, "You ain't that charmin' b****" before a fight breaks out. Moments later, Kara then says to Letty, "Thank God you showed up. These parties bore me to death." Sure, they're cheesy lines anyway, but Rousey's delivery is so forced and wooden, and her stone-faced expression is so self-serious that the whole things just feels unintentionally comical. Thankfully she's basically only in the film for one scene. To Rousey's credit, she fared much better by playing herself in the Entourage movie later in the summer, but her work in F7 suggests she's maybe not cut out for a career of villainy. Just don't tell her she sucks to her face, though...
