The Great Actor: Countless reboots on TV and film may follow, but in the world's eyes Christopher Reeve will always be Superman. Playing the role in all four of the original films (and the model which Brandon Routh followed in Superman Returns), he helped shape the Man of Steel on screen and will always be the actor people think of when they hear that theme tune. Once the series dried up, Reeve invested much of his time in humanitarian efforts, becoming a prominent political figure. His acting career was cut tragically short when a fall from a horse left him disabled from the neck down in 1995, but he continued to be a rights activist up to his death in 2004. The Terrible Final Role: Dr. Alan Chaffee - Village Of The Damned The accident marked the end of Reeve's big screen career, meaning Village Of The Damned was an unwitting full stop on his filmography. Directed by John Carpenter (but a nineties John Carpenter) it's a pretty vapid remake that offers little beyond the usual horror genre walkthrough for the actors. The only role Reeve had post-accident was in an made-for-TV remake of Hitchcock's Rear Window. He was understandably impressive in the role, but the show itself was a dud.
