11 Huge Issues That Might Ruin The DC Cinematic Universe

10. Too Many Niche Characters

A major problem facing the major comic book movie expansion taking place right now is in selling the comic world's most unknown and niche characters to audiences who don't read comic books. Marvel have done a bang-up job aquainting viewers with the likes of Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Guardians of the Galaxy and so on, and in the coming years, DC are going to suffer, possibly even more so, by introducing such a challenging cast of characters. For example, Batman v Superman will be hurling Cyborg and Aquaman into the mix alongside Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, and then there's Suicide Squad, which has to deal with Deadshot, Rick Flagg, Captain Boomerang and Enchantress (alongside, of course, The Joker and Harley Quinn). In addition, there's Shazam, and also Green Lantern, who has already been tainted by the terrible 2011 film. That's a lot for audiences to swallow down, and while Marvel have largely used comedy to help initiate viewers in these new properties and draw attention to their inherent silliness, DC might struggle a little more with their serious approach.
