10. Sheena (1984)
Sheena is a movie that nobody wanted to see, though Hollywood still decided to invest $25 million into making it happen, presumably because an executive wanted to make something where Tanya Roberts had reason to wear as little clothing as possible. No surprise that this lame slice of comic book adaptation failed to make its money back at the box office, then, even though it contained a ton of boobage. The character of Sheena was original designed as a female counterpart to Tarzan, a warrior-type with the ability to talk to animals and fight like a badass. And the character holds quite the legacy: apart from being the first female comic book hero to get her own publication, she inspired countless other "female jungle warrior" incarnations, like, uh... well, you know. What we got here was as movie that tried to be campy but was just plain terrible. The fact that the director had apparently been trying for 10 years of his life to get this made before he was given the chance gives the whole production a largely melancholic feeling: 10 years of work, and for this. Still, the opening credits sequence, which simply consists of two minutes of Tanya Roberts riding on a zebra, proved to be a relative treat for a whole generation of teenager boys, who appreciated its, uh... "bounciness."
