11 Marvel Comics Moments Now Possible With Spider-Man In The MCU

7. Red Skull Killed Spider-Man's Parents

As exciting as Spider-Man's inclusion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is, there is a definite risk of his introduction feeling rushed and disjointed, especially if his first appearance is in the movie in which he is unmasked. Therefore, it would be a good idea to incorporate some of his history into some existing Marvel Cinematic Universe history - and what better way to do so than revealing that his parents were killed by the Red Skull? This actually happened in the comics in a 1960s Spider-Man annual issue, when it was revealed that his parents were S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who were framed as being American traitors by the Red Skull (albeit the third version, Albert Malik) himself. He had them killed by an assassin. It could be interesting to reveal that the MCU Red Skull was still alive and had been active on Earth in the shadows for some time, and the reveal that he was responsible for Spider-Man's parents' deaths would help to embed the character into the franchise.
