Those words belong to Ryan Reynolds himself, who has been trumpeting the Deadpool cause for as long as it's been a glimmer in Fox's eye, even despite the problems with X-Men Origins.

And they're indicative of one of the biggest selling points of the leaked script: the humour.

While most comic book movies can survive without much humour - with throwaway jokes to lighten the mood - Deadpool is all about pitch black humour, and compromising on that front to try and fit in with the rest of the X-Men universe (which is currently pretty mirthless) would have been a betrayal.

Luckily both Reynolds and everyone who has read the leaked script have confirmed that the film is going to be as funny as it is violent. And that is a refreshingly welcome revelation.
