11 Most Horribly Disappointing Movie Supervillain Reveals

10. Deadpool (X-Men Origins: Wolverine)

20th Century Fox

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is one giant mess of a film, but its biggest sin was its treatment of Deadpool, transformed from the anti-hero of the comic books into a ridiculously over-powered supervillain who does not resemble his comic book counterpart in any way. Ryan Reynolds does a fine job playing the wise-cracking Wade Wilson early on, but things take a huge turn for the worse when Wade is supposedly killed and later revealed to be William Stryker's Weapon XI, "the Deadpool".

Deadpool is known in the comics for having the nickname The Merc with the Mouth, so what's the first thing we notice about this version of Deadpool? He doesn't have a freaking mouth. He also doesn't wear the signature red and black outfit, his weapons are taken away, and at the same time he's given the additional power of Cyclops' Optic Blast for absolutely no reason at all. Basically, the character every self-respecting comic book fan had been waiting to see done justice was turned into a generic, charmless grunt who ends up getting his head sliced off by Wolverine. Great...
