11 Movie Posters That Really Know How To Sell A Film

5. Reign Of Fire

reign_of_fire How utterly awesome is this movie poster? Living in the UK it was great to see our bit of home turf getting the same apocalyptic treatment normally reserved for New York, Washington DC or LA. Frankly if the film had been anything like this movie poster, this may have been number one on my list. Dragons laying waste to cities. Dragons versus military helicopters? Dragons that are - as the tagline suggests - highly intelligent and highly evolved? This is beyond cool. Here at WhatCulture we recently ran another article 10 Insanely Misleading Movie Posters You Wont Believe Actually Exist and this poster appeared here too. Now I bring it up again, not because I want to repeat what came before but because as a poster, it sells what might be the greatest film ever conceived...and LIES! This isn't a cut scene. This isn't even in the script. Because this poster recounts the events that proceeded the film. Dragons had already laid waste to the world. And there obviously wasn't enough budget because WE DIDN'T SEE ANY OF IT! As my fellow WhatCulture writer T.J. Banard said, whoever tricked us deserves to burn in hell. Forever. A little strong? I think not. This poster tells us that we are going to see the most magnificent action sequence ever depicted on film. A case of a poster selling a film a little too well!
